Ever thought about getting anti-wrinkle injections or wondered what they involve? Read on to learn how they works and their benefits.
What happens during Anti-Wrinkle Injection treatment?
Anti-wrinkle injections act by interrupting the communication process that normally occurs between nerves and muscles at a point called the synapse. The nerve thinks it is sending impulses to the muscle but the muscle, in essence, can’t “hear” what the nerve is telling it to do, and doesn’t tighten. If the muscle can’t contract, it can’t pull on the skin that covers it, and the wrinkle disappears.
Anti-wrinkle injections treat frown lines, crow’s feet and the horizontal lines on our forehead we get when we raise our brows.

Anti-Wrinkle Injection Aftercare

Immediately after your treatment:

- Keep your head upright as much as possible for 4-5 hours after treatment.
- No sun beds or saunas for 4-5 hours.
- Do not touch or put pressure on the area for 4-5 hours after treatment to avoid migration of the toxin.
- Avoid touching the area or applying make up immediately after.
Within a day of your treatment:
- Do not consume alcohol or coffee for 24 hours after treatment.
Things to remember about Anti-Wrinkle Injection treatments
- Your anti-wrinkle injections can take up to 2 weeks to take full affect. Please be patient.
- You may have small bruises at the injection sights, this is normal and will subside within a few days.
- If you are new to anti-wrinkle injections, they can make you feel heavy in your forehead, this will subside as you get used to the toxin.
The longevity of anti-wrinkle injections can and does vary from person to person. On average you will see good results up to the 8-10 week mark, where you will start to see some minor movement returning. If movement does return sooner, this is perfectly normal and is usually down to metabolism, exercise or stress.
Remember, like all aesthetic treatments, everyone gets different results as everyone’s bodies work in different ways. Refunds are not given if it wears off too quickly or if you thought results would last longer. It really depends on how your body reacts to it. No results are guaranteed.
You cannot rebook again before 12 weeks.
